At Hacienda Alsacia, the Starbucks-owned farm in Costa Rica, agronomy teams work to identify coffee tree varieties that may perform well across a range of growing conditions.

High quality coffee starts with strong supply chains. Starbucks^® evaluates farms and suppliers against criteria that support coffee quality and long-term supply.

TRANSPARENCY

Knowing where coffee comes from helps Starbucks® maintain high standards in its supply chain. Starbucks® requires its suppliers to report where their coffee is produced.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Through tasting, testing, and sensory evaluation, Starbucks^® coffee experts work to ensure coffees meet quality standards and highlight the unique flavor characteristics of where they were grown.
