Our Quality Assurance program covers three areas for your operation: Branding, Beverage Standards and Equipment & Smallwares.
Brand Experience
Ensuring your We Proudly Serve Starbucks® location is following our logo, menu and branding requirements.

Operator identity must be present and primary signage at location

Use of Starbucks green apron – with Starbucks logo or plain “Starbucks green” is not permitted

Branded signage guidelines are followed:
- 1 Blade Sign – used as a directional way finder for your operation
- 1 Wall Sign – used with primary location identity to signify WPS Starbucks program
- 1-4 Menu Board panels
- 2 Poster Frames
- 2 Counter Cards
Why is this important? Ensuring the identity of your location is present, prominent and in right proportion and following our branded guidelines is key in supporting the overall consumer experience and understanding that they are not in a Starbucks retail location is critical to overall experience
- Operator identity present and in right proportion (4:1 ratio to WPS Starbucks® logo for menus)
- Only one We Proudly Serve Starbucks® logo per menu board system – included imagery
- All beverage names are listed correctly and with right trademarks
- Only WPS Starbucks® approved items are listed on menu boards with WPS Starbucks® branding
Why is this important? Proper branding on your menu boards with your identity being primary and all beverage names are list correctly and with right trademarks supports the delivery of the right brand experience
- All beverages prepared using ingredients provided by Nestle for WPS Starbucks® locations must be served in a hot or cold branded cup.
Why is this important? You have made the investment in a premium brand for your operation, serving beverages in a branded cup supports this investment for your operation.
Beverage Quality
Quality in the cup is key to the success of your operation. Ensuring you’re delivering a quality beverage will help support the customer experience and help drive success for your operation.
- We Proudly Serve Starbucks® recipes use proprietary Starbucks® coffees, Starbucks® non-dairy alternatives, Teavana® teas, Starbucks® & Fontana® sauces and syrups and other required ingredients (which may be modified at any time by Starbucks in its sole discretion). No other products or ingredients may be substituted.
• Starbucks brewed coffee is being served, and no other coffee brand is being served on site
- All beverages are made to standards and prepared per We Proudly Serve Starbucks® Beverage Manual recipes
- All products are within shelf life standards and clearly marked
- Timers on hand and coffee hold times being observed – don’t have timers – click here to order
- Training materials supporting WPS Starbucks program execution are present and being used
Why is this important? You’ve made an investment in a premium brand for your location and when customers see the WPS Starbucks logo they have an expectation of a quality, premium tasting beverage. Following both our standards for beverage ingredients used and correct beverage preparation will support customer satisfaction and help your business grow.

Equipment & Smallwares
Maintaining and cleaning your equipment and supplies on a regular basis helps ensure delivering a quality beverage experience
- Water filtration is required for all brewed coffee and espresso equipment.
- Depending on water quality, these should be replaced every 6-12 month
Why is this important? Regularly changing filters prevents issues caused by sediment, chlorine, and hardness, which affect taste and can damage equipment.
- All equipment cleaning cards are present and team is following daily, weekly, monthly cleaning procedures.
Why is this important? Following proper daily, weekly and monthly cleaning procedures help maintain the flavor of the coffee, ensures proper machine function and help extend the life of the equipment.
- Regular cleaning procedures on smallwares are followed and in good condition – no stains, chips, cracks, etc.
Why is this important? Helps avoid build up from beverage ingredients and avoids any foreign elements impacting beverage quality.
